Dog Breed: Siberian Husky / Mixed (short coat). ***Casanova and Dallas are best friends! They don't have to be adopted together, but if you're looking for two dogs, consider adopting these besties together to keep each other company at home!*** My name is Casanova and I am a black & white siberian husky/mix. I am a neutered male and I am 2 years old. I was transferred here from another shelter/rescue through the Ames Animal Shelter's Third Chance program on 08/24/2025. I am potty trained. I am a high energy dog and I can live with an owner with no prior pet owning experience. I can be good with men, women, and children. I can be good with other dogs and I cannot live with cats. The shelter I was transferred from shared this about me: Casanova (Cass) was brought in as a stray and never claimed. He's not really clingy but is friendly and will `check in` with staff and volunteers and then go off to explore. He seems to be ok with other dogs, tending to avoid jumpy active dogs. He should be ok with any dog if proper introductions are used. We don't feel like he would be good with cats or rabbits. He doesn't easily re-direct and watches them intently as if waiting for them to run so he can chase. Cass is smart and would be easy to teach. He's a bit independent and can be picky about which treats he likes so the secret to training is finding a treat he loves to be used as his reward. He always keeps his kennel clean, so he appears to be potty trained. Cass enjoys walks and is mildly active. He does have that super smart brain and will need daily activity to keep him from being bored.
