Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler (short coat). Location: VA Meet Lilly Belle Lilly Belle is a sweet and affectionate girl who loves nothing more than snuggles and being the center of attention. She’s happiest curled up in bed with her person and will gladly soak up all the love you can give. She is housebroken and crate trained (though she thinks a cookie bribe makes crate time much more appealing!). Lilly Belle has a confident personality and does best when she can be the alpha. She’s great with most dogs but may not get along with pups who have equally strong personalities. She is also very toy motivated, especially with the ball. Lilly Belle is up to date on her vaccines, and her spay is scheduled for Tuesday, 8/26. She’s ready to bring joy, companionship, and endless cuddles to her forever home. If you’re looking for a loyal snuggle buddy who will adore you endlessly, Lilly Belle just might be your girl! She is currently located in Alexandria, VA. Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
