Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. Tina - I have a wonderful dog - whose name is Halsa - who I have cared but who I unfortunately need to rehome for personal reasons as I may not be able to care for her. She is about 4 years old, a mixed breed - mostly Rottweiler, I believe - has lots of personality, is extremely loving and very affectionate and intelligent. She is, of course, house trained and will obey basic commands (sit, lay down, come here), loves to go for walks (loose leash), loves to run, play with other dogs, go for rides in the car, listen to music (quiet jazz). She is healthy, has been spayed, has been to a vet (Vetenary Center of Buckhead) on a regular basis for shots, etc. and is used to eating dry dog food. The folks at the local doggy day care place - Barking Hound - absolutely love her. I would be happy for you to speak with them to confirm their experience with Halsa - Logann Fischer 910-274-3037 - who knows her best! **** Breed: Rotweiller **** Pet Link: .nokillnetwork/adoption/pet_detail.php?petid=2187277&flag=1

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
