Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Available for Adoption! Hopi is a beautiful pup who was rescued from a hoarding situation up north—where 30–40 small dogs (small breed female 25 lbs. Males 30 lbs. or less) were found fending for themselves. Meet Haven, a truly stunning little pup with silky fur and the delicate features of a miniature fox! Haven is now ready to start her new life filled with love, care, and adventure. Despite her rough start, Haven is a joyful, playful, and affectionate puppy. She has a gentle spirit and a happy demeanor that’s simply contagious. She’s got some adorable quirks too—like her cat-like play style, pouncing and swatting at toys with pure delight! Personality & Behavior: Super friendly, sociable, and sweet-natured, Curious, courageous, and independent, Loves to entertain herself and be part of the fun, Playful and bouncy, but also well-mannered, Great with kids, cats, and other dogs Training Progress: Crate training in progress, Lets you know when she needs to go potty, Potty training is ongoing as she is very young. Not leash trained yet, classified as a small breed—perfect for someone looking for a compact companion with a big heart. If you're looking for a loving, energetic, and beautiful puppy to welcome into your family, Haven is ready to steal your heart. She has had 2 vet visits, is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated - DHPP x 2 (needs 2 more & are included through GTDR), Rabies (when old enough), & Bordetella x 2, a 4 DX test (testing for Lyme disease and two types of tick-borne illnesses), flea/tick/heartworm prevention (Nexgard Plus), two dewormings, and 2 fecal test. Adopters will receive all original paperwork, a 14-day health guarantee, a collar, harness, leash, seatbelt lock, and a week's worth of food. We operate on a first-come, first-served basis and are by appointment only. We are located in Mesa near Gilbert/Brown & offer flexible hours for meet-and-greet appointments. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
