Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Available for Adoption! Hutch was rescued from a hoarding situation up north—where 30–40 small dogs (small breed: female 25 lbs. Males 30 lbs. or less) were found fending for themselves. Meet Hutch – a sweet, happy puppy who’s ready to begin his new life filled with love, play, and adventure! Hutch is a curious little explorer, always up for discovering new things and eager to learn. He loves pleasing his people and has a heart full of joy. This lovable pup is easy going, playful, and has an adorable personality that will instantly win you over. Hutch has a few small scars on his back that are healed, healthy but does have a patch of fur that hasn’t grown back. You’d have to look closely to even notice, and it certainly doesn’t slow him down! Hutch is too busy enjoying life, playing, and soaking up affection to be bothered. He’s already showing great potential: obedient and food motivated, working on crate/potty training, loves kids, cats and all dogs. Too young for leash training just yet—but he’ll get there! Hutch is the kind of pup who will bring endless love, laughter, and adventure to his forever family. Could that be you? Hutch has had 2 vet visits, is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated - DHPP x 2 (needs 2 more & are included through GTDR), Rabies (when old enough), & Bordetella x 2, a 4 DX test (testing for Lyme disease and two types of tick-borne illness, flea/tick/heartworm prevention (Nexgard Plus), two dewormings, and 2 fecal test. Adopters will receive all original paperwork, a 14-day health guarantee, a collar, harness, leash, seatbelt lock, and a week's worth of food. We operate on a first-come, first-served basis and are by appointment only. We are located in Mesa near Gilbert/Brown & offer flexible hours for meet-and-greet appointments. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
