Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. I adopted Andy in November of 2024 from a foster home in Ozark, MO. I also adopted his brother at the same time. Since they are siblings, when they are together they sometimes will gang up on my smaller pit bull mix. I am looking for a good home for him. Andy turned one on April 30, 2025. He weighs 80 lbs. He is current on all his shots and has been on heartworm and flea and tick prevention since we adopted him. He loves to be petted and is very affectionate! He loves to play with a small tough ball, and can keep himself entertained with it for awhile. I’m looking for someone that can take care of him and give him lots of love and affection. Also be able to keep him on regular shots , heartworm and flea and tick prevention. He’s a great watchdog and loves the outdoors! Only serious inquiries please. **** Breed: Great Dane Mix **** Pet Link: .nokillnetwork/adoption/pet_detail.php?petid=2187454&flag=1

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
