MOLLY - DACHSHUND (SHORT COAT) DOG FOR ADOPTION

Description

Dog Breed: Dachshund (short coat). Molly is a sweet and funny 3 year old 17 pound girl who loves to cuddle, eat, and roll around in the grass. She likes to play tug and run around if you pretend to chase her. She’s not a big barker like many doxies are, preferring to save her barks for important things, like when you take too long prepping her food or when someone comes to the door. Although Molly likes a yard, she prefers to go out on harness and leash. She says being naked outside is scary! Molly is also a little nervous about thunder and appreciates extra cuddles when it’s thundering. Molly has two issues to consider before thinking about adding Molly to your family. 1) She is a big foodie and was a terrible beggar when she arrived at her foster home. Her foster mom has been working through this, but she’ll need consistent work on this to continue progressing in her new home. 2) Molly can be very defensive when she is scared or when she feels like she needs to guard her toys, chews, or her favorite person. If she’s in your lap, she prefers that other people and dogs keep their hand and paws to themselves and she will defend (even with teeth) if either do not respect this preference. Speaking of dogs, Molly gets along well with dogs her size but is selective when it comes to larger dogs. Molly would not be a good fit for a family with small children. Older kids are fine as long as they are willing to respect Molly’s needs. Molly comes with a full month of training (we meet once a week, either in person or virtually) to help ensure her success in her new home.
