Clean bill of health from the PIPs Vet!Meet Athena, a majestic mashup of Great Dane and German Shepherd who somehow missed the memo that she’s supposed to be intimidating. Instead of channeling her inner police dog or horse-sized guard beast, Athena prefers to politely ask permission before joining the playgroup, offering up her best submissive wiggle and an "I'm just happy to be here" vibe. She’s the kind of pup who’d RSVP to a dog park party and then spend the whole time making sure everyone else is having fun. When she's not perfecting her "please like me" dog diplomacy, Luna is an unapologetic snuggle bug. After a long day of cautious tail wags and polite play bows, she loves nothing more than to climb into your lap (while she's still small!) and melt into a puddle of affection. She's still brushing up on this whole crate-training and house-training thing but she's smart and eager to learn. Athena is also wonderful with kids, especially the ones who understand that a girl needs her space before she’s ready to party. Basically, she’s a gentle soul in a soon-to-be big dog body, looking for a home that appreciates the art of a well-timed cuddle and a cautious approach to canine socialization.
