Josie is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 08/27/25 she had a dental polishing. We were told that Josie is an Australian Shepherd / Standard Poodle mix. She is not hypoallergenic and will shed. Weight: 45 lbs Height: 24 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $599 Fence needed? Yes, Josie requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller. What kind of home would be best for me? Josie has only known life within a breeding home. Her experience being a pet are limited, and it shows. She's curious and eager, but everything is new. Her new family will teach her everything. One thing Josie absolutely must have in her new home is another dog. Having a canine buddy by her side gives her the confidence she needs to navigate new situations and helps her remember that life is meant to be enjoyed. She loves to play with other dogs but also has a lovely calm, laid-back side when it’s time to relax. Meet Josie – A Gentle Soul Ready to Bloom. Josie is an absolute sweetheart who’s just waiting for the right family to help her fully open up and shine. She’s lived a life where she was almost used for breeding, so the idea that the world is a big, wide, exciting place is still something she’s learning. Change can feel a little scary for her, but the beautiful part is—she settles in surprisingly quickly once she feels safe. Josie is crate trained and listens well... most of the time. (Hey, nobody’s perfect—but she sure is trying!) With time, patience, and a lot of love, we believe Josie will thrive and be happy in just about any environment, so long as she has another dog to learn from and lean on. Josie will need some guidance when it comes to leash skills and training in general, but she’s eager to learn. She’s the kind of dog who, once she trusts you, will look to you for direction and soak up your attention like it’s the best gift in the world. If you’re looking for a gentle dog who just needs a little extra encouragement and another pup to help show her the ropes, Josie could be the missing piece of your family. She’s ready to give her heart—you just have to give her the chance. How do I act when I first meet new people? Josie is timid. She hasn't had a lot of interactions with people so she doesn't always know how to make introductions. Give her a little time and she'll show you her beautiful spirit. Other tips and tidbits: Josie's breeder stated she is 3 years old. We have no original paperwork to validate this, but her overall condition supports this age estimate. We celebrate her birthday 08/17/2022. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet.
