Description
Dog Breed: Poodle (Toy) (long coat). Adoption Fee: $399. Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home. Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families. Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known. Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available. Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes? Please drop a note to applicationscarolinapoodlerescue with your name, address and phone # and email. We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team Date into Rescue: 08/21/25 Reason for being in rescue: owner release/health of owner Foster location: Christine and Joe Greensboro NC Special Needs? Biscuit is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Biscuit also has allergies which his former family found could be controlled with the right diet (Purina ProPlan Sensitive Skin and Stomach) and the right shampoo (available on Amazon - Veterinary Formula Clinical Care Antiseptic and Antifungal Medicated Shampoo for Dogs & Cats,) This protocol controls his allergies well. Amazingly, because the owners have been using a spray on his teeth, Biscuit does not need a dental. We are sending this with him and highly recommend his new family keep this up. Biscuit has battled allergies in his younger years but seems to be holding his own now with those. Weight: 5.6 lbs Height: 9 in at the shoulder Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $399 Fence needed? No - Biscuit does not have to have a fence but for the first time in his life, he's got one and really enjoys the freedom of romping off leash in the grass. Our recommendation is that he have a safe place to play at least three times per week off leash if you don't have a fenced in yard What kind of home would be best for me? Biscuit's perfect home could be one with other dogs or without. He was trained to pee pads but he's really enjoying the grass under his feet and took to potty outside very easily. He needs a human. Biscuit's idea of a perfect life includes a human being 24/7. A dog friend is okay, too. Someone working from home would be his ideal person. Biscuit is quiet when he is with his people so someone who needed a quiet, polite dog is great. Biscuit wants a person in it. Townhome, apartment, single family dwelling, farm and acreage...Biscuit could adapt seamlessly to many different environments. He'd also love an RV and life on the road. What matters the most to Biscuit is you are facing this world together. What is my personality like? Biscuit is polite, well-mannered and easy going. He's been well cared for and it shows. He's been taught all the right things, and we think his core personality is a good one. He also loves his ball and will chase a mini tennis ball all day. Biscuit loves to walk. At his tiny size, we're not talking marathons but a brisk walk around the block a couple of times per day would make him smile. Let's talk sleeping though. Biscuit is a bit active in the evenings. He is used to sleeping in his crate and foster mom has the crate right by her bed where she can tap the top and tell him all is okay. He then settles right down. She tried letting him sleep with her and our boy has a tendency to get active at night given that freedom. He likes to play at 2 am LOL. He would probably transition easily to sleeping with you and sleeping soundly all night but for the first 30 days, we think you will sleep better if you give him his own safe place. Pisces are dreamy, emphatic and creative and we think Biscuit fits this perfectly! His foster mom says simply "he is such a really nice, polite little dog." Biscuit is a perfect example of dogs who find themselves homeless through absolutely no fault of their own. Somebody is going to get an absolute gem! How do I act when I first meet new people? Friendly and polite. Did we say Biscuit was a gentleman? He is! Other tips and tidbits: Biscuit's birthdate is 03/01/2020 - he's a Pisces! One note - Nexgard caused Biscuit to throw up. He tolerates Heartguard plus very well for heartworm prevention. If you prefer an all in one, he can take credelio and is on that prevention currently. Biscuit has a history of allergies. This will need to be watched. He is under control now. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina. To apply, please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR.
