Dog Breed: Dachshund / Mixed. Hi there! My name is Makai and I am the sweetest boy! I am a 4 year old, 18 pound standard dachshund. I am a sensitive and timid boy that loves to be with my human. I recently lost my family and am looking for someone that will love on me and give me all the pets and love I am so deserving of. I am timid in new situations and with new people, but I warm up pretty quickly and am overall very friendly! I met a 9 year old boy and instantly loved him. I should do well with older kids that will be gentle with me at first. I have gotten along with dogs of all sizes in my foster home and ignore the cat. I am crate trained and housetrained and learning to use a dog door. I love to run around in the grass, but my favorite place is right by person's side or in their lap! When I get excited, I do the cutest bunny hops and my sweet smile and loving eyes will melt your heart. I would love to find a family that will help me continue to build my confidence, as well as help me to lose a little bit of weight and of course, give me lots of snuggles too! I cannot wait to meet you and see if you can be my forever home! Dogs are not placed on a first-come first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal, applications may take up to 48 hours to complete. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Makai's adoption fee is $200.
