ZILCAN NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Zilcan Best Guess for Breed: Chi Mix Best Guess for Age: 3 years as of August 2025 SEX: Male Approximate Weight: 18lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen them with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Currently Living at: DC area foster home. Special adoption considerations: Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think Zilcan would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure he goes on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes. Zilcan is Looking For: His forever home! He dreams of warm laps to snuggle on, lots of toys to play with, and maybe a treat or two! He'd also love to go on plenty of walks to exercise his short legs and get her zoomies out. What do you say? Do you have room in your heart for him? What My Foster Says About Me: Zilcan is the sweetest little shadow you could ask for! He’s calm, gentle, and so affectionate—always ready for a cuddle, belly rub, or even a hug (he’ll put his paws up to ask!). His tail never stops wagging, and he loves nothing more than being close to his people, whether that means curling up on the couch or following you around just to be close. Zilcan is also playful, loves his ball, and is always up for a nice long walk. He’s good with other dogs, loves everyone he meets, and has the sweetest, most easygoing personality. All this boy wants is love, and he’ll give it back tenfold. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
