Newly retired? Want an instant family? Well these boys are just what you need. They came from OH when their owner died and the family could not keep them. They are a bonded pair and can not be separated. They love to sleep together and more than anything they love to be with their family. At first meeting Yoda is a little timid but quickly warms up when he sees his dad thinks you are ok. Simba just wants to be loved. It’s easy to see that these two were very loved by their owner except for vetting. It was easy to see that the owner was home most of the time because these two wait for you to come home and can get vocal until the foster mom does. If you are retired and have lots of free time to take these two on long walks and spend your time with them then they would love for you to adopt them. Our must haves for them are: A fenced in yard Someone home/retired but active Someone looking for an instant family No apartments, condos of high rises as they can get vocal Please do not wait to give these two the last home they’ll know, they have been through so much already. Reach out if you want more info on these two and if you live out of state we can help with transport to get them to you. ============== Information for All Dogs/Adopters ============== AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund’s back or get bitten. If you have questions about this dog, please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed on the bio form. They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal. We will not adopt into CT, RI, NH, ME, or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have any issue with this, you will need to take this up with your legislatures. To understand the adoption process through AADR, please review the Adoption Information on our home page. Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3. Click this link to apply: .allamericandachshundrescue/apply, it will take you to the application form. Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers who will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or Midwest. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. Please look for dogs on your coast.
