Ranger was the longest term resident at the City Of Conroe Animal Shelter, his original intake date being 8/27/24. This handsome mixed breed boy was brought to the shelter as just a little puppy and was overlooked for nearly a year! Somewhere in that time, he was adopted but was returned shortly after because the new owners couldn't take care of him anymore. Ranger is almost 2 years old now, and is remarkably well behaved considering that he has had little to no structure in his lifetime at the shelter. We broke Ranger out of the shelter a day before his 1 year anniversary, determined to not let him hit that year mark. Now in a loving foster home, Ranger is starting to get acclimated and comfortable living in a home, and he's making amazing progress! This handsome, personality filled, intelligent boy will be an overlooked shelter dog no longer! What we know about Ranger: Almost 2 years old, 50lbs, good with dogs, cats, and kids, crate, leash, potty/house trained, rides well in the car, and very intelligent! The only thing Ranger's life is missing now, is you! Ranger is looking for his forever home with someone who can fulfill his high energy lifestyle as well as his cuddly side! Ranger is good with dogs and kids, and while he has shown to be good around feline friends, he sometimes can't help but to give chase if he sees a cat run. He is, however, getting very good at the "leave it" command and perfecting his impulse control! With a little bit of training and some consistency, Ranger will no doubt be golden! According to his Embark DNA test, Ranger is primarily a mixture of Pit Bull, Husky, and Lab. He is an exceptionally smart and driven dog who would thrive having a job to do!
