Description
Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever / Poodle (Standard) / Mixed (medium coat). Forever Home Wanted: Meet Shaggy! Shaggy is a big, goofy, shaggy, energetic bundle of joy. At just nine months old, this Labradoodle is the definition of a silly teenager in dog form. He weighs in at about 75–80 pounds, has been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, and is ready to find his forever home. Shaggy is crate and potty trained, loves to play fetch, and never turns down a toy. He adores people, gets along well with other dogs, and is happiest when he’s part of the action. With his long legs and strong tail, he’s built for hikes, long walks, and enthusiastic zoomies. He knows how to sit, has a firm and charming shake, and brings a mix of quirks, silliness, and pure happiness to every day. This young doodle would thrive with an active family who’s ready for walks, weekend adventures, and plenty of puppy antics. He still has some learning to do, but his eagerness and joy make him a fast learner. If you’ve been looking for a hiking buddy, comedian, and cuddle bug all rolled into one, Shaggy is your guy. If interested in meeting Shaggy, please fill out an application at .labradorsandfriends. Shaggy is located in Southern California.

Breed overview
Overview:
The Labradoodle is a mix between the Labrador Retriever and the Poodle. Both breeds are excellent for children and families. The Labradoodle became known in 1988, when Australian breeder Wally Conron crossed the Labrador Retriever and Standard Poodle at the Royal Guide Dogs Associations of Australia in Victoria. Conron's aim was to combine the low-shedding coat of the Poodle with the gentleness and trainability of the Labrador, and to provide a guide dog suitable for people with allergies to fur and dander. Sultan, a dog from this litter, displayed all the qualities Conron was seeking and worked as a guide dog for a woman in Hawaii for ten years. Although Guide Dogs Victoria no longer breed Labradoodles, they are bred by other guide and assistance dog organizations in Australia and other places. The Association for the Blind of Western Australia has introduced Labradoodles into their training program, and their first, Jonnie, graduated in November 2010. Labradoodles are now widely used around the world as guide, assistance, and therapy dogs as well as being popular family dogs. The Norwegian Royal Crown Prince and Princess own a Labradoodle.
