Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed (short coat). Location: Cleveland, NY Nix,Years Old: Nix is a sweet, loving, and friendly girl. She loves to be with her person, being brushed, and does not mind having her nails trimmed. She is house trained but loves being outside enjoying the sunshine. She is learning how to play ball, and tug Nix will need a fenced yard because when she is afraid, she will run. She is sensitive to a stern voice. I will be working with her on crate training and will need to be continued when she goes into her new home. She will investigate the chickens and would love to chase them if allowed to. (They are fenced where she can go right up to them but very easy to call away). She has a fairly good recall but not if scared. Nix would benefit from obedience training and is quick so most likely would love agility. Nix will be spayed before going to her new forever home. Please contact kbinkie2hotmail. Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
