Dog Breed: Boykin Spaniel. Meet Clarence! Clarence is a young adult Boykin Spaniel mix (best guess!) weighing in at about 27 pounds. He came to us as a stray from Killeen and has been winning hearts with his goofy personality, nonstop wagging tail, and love for all things water. Clarence is very smart, food motivated, and full of energy. He’ll thrive in an active home that can keep up with him both mentally and physically. He’s not suited for a low-energy household or older individuals looking for a laid-back companion — this boy is ready to go! He’s crate trained and doing well with structure, but his potty and leash training are still in progress. He’s friendly with people and has done well with other dogs and even cats. Because of his energy level and jumpy enthusiasm, we recommend a home with older children only. Clarence will need a family familiar with high-drive sporting breeds and committed to ongoing training, exercise, and mental stimulation. If you’re looking for a loyal, energetic, and super fun partner — and don’t mind getting a little wet — Clarence might be your perfect match!
