Dog Breed: Australian Shepherd (long coat). Adoption Fee: 350.. Hello Gorgeous! Murphy is a 2 yr old mini Aussie, blue-eyed blue merle with copper points. He's fully grown at just 26 lbs. Murphy is a fetching combination of cute, handsome, shy and wigglebutt. He's good with cats, kids and other dogs. Aussie's are highly intelligent herding breed dogs. As with most Aussies, Murphy wants his people to be in charge. He needs an experienced adopter who will provide him with good leadership, he's not suitable for a first time dog owner. Murphy would do well with a playmate his size. He could also be an only dog. Murphy is best suited to a home with a physically-fenced yard where he can run and romp and play. Aussies need regular exercise and mental stimulation. Murphy has been working on meeting other dogs properly. His adopter should keep up with his introduction training. Murphy is housebroken and crate trained. If you'd like to meet Murphy, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. All our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, dewormed and current on flea and tick and heartworm prevention.
