Found as a stray and heartbreakingly emaciated, this sweet boy was scooped up and given a second chance by our rescue team. He’s now under the loving care of our veterinary partner, getting stronger every day — and winning hearts along the way. Despite his rough start, Duke is pure love. He adores people and gets along beautifully with other dogs. (Though, we’ll admit — he’s hilariously intimidated by one tiny pup at the shelter. Big guy, small fears. We get it, Duke.) Duke’s ideal home is one filled with kindness, patience, and maybe a cozy couch to stretch those long legs. He’s ready to be someone’s loyal companion, snuggle buddy, and best friend. Originating in Germany, where it was historically bred for hunting boar, this giant breed is renowned for its immense size and striking presence.
