Dog Breed: Chihuahua / Mixed. A CUTE LITTLE FELLOW: Approx. 4 years old / Approx. 11 lbs. Hello – I’m Scooter! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control and while I was grateful to be out of animal control and on my way to the good life I deserve, I was super scared when I arrived. Thankfully, I went into a wonderful foster home and am blossoming there as well as being so happy. I’m ready to find a home of my very own now, so plan to meet me soon! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I’ve been friendly with the two dogs in my foster home, and I enjoy following them around as well as running around with them! So, if you have a nice doggie at home already, let’s meet and see if we can be pals! / I have been friendly with the kitty in my foster home. When I get a bit too curious or try to initiate play, the paw swat lets me know that isn’t cool, and I respect that. I’d likely do well with a kitty-friendly dog in my new home. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no very young kids as I’d like a little bit of a quieter home. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I’m a playful and loving pup who’s still a little skittish, and I think I’d be happiest in a nice calm type of home with a stay or work from home family member if possible. I have my own special way of chatting with my fosters — I let out soft little whimpers to “talk” to them, and they say it’s just the cutest thing! Even though I can be shy, my gentle, sweet nature always shines through, especially when I get to share love and playtime with the people I trust. / My energy level in my foster home is 4-6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I am a pretty smart little guy and have mastered the ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘wait’ and ‘come’ commands. I also respect the ‘no’ command and will look to my foster parents for direction. I also have good leash skills on my walks. I’ve shown minor signs of guarding my person and might growl if sitting with my foster and another dog wants to join in. This is a very trainable trait, and the Mostly Mutts trainers will be happy to help you with this. / I will go in my crate on command in my foster home – sometimes with a bit of whimpering if there is something going on that I want to be a part of in the house. / I did some initial marking in my foster home (3x), so my foster used a belly band for a few days, and the marking behavior ceased. I’ve been doing well since on my foster’s potty schedule since, so yay me! • LIKES/DISLIKES: I love a good game of chase with the other dogs or tug-of-war with my toys, and when I’m not playing, you might catch me happily working on a Nylabone or crunching away at an elk antler. Running around the backyard with my foster siblings is one of my favorite things! I also really enjoy going on walks in the neighborhood, and I’ve been very polite when meeting new people and other dogs along the way. After all that fun, I’m more than happy to curl up on the couch with my fosters for some cuddle time. / I don’t really like being left alone a lot and I’m not a fan of walking on wet grass as a lot of dogs don’t care for that. I can also be a little choosy with treats — I’ll politely pass on the ones I don’t like. Car rides make me tremble, too, but perhaps I’ll get used to them in time. I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I’m a nice little fellow looking for a nice quieter type of home with a great family to love! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
