Dog Breed: American Staffordshire Terrier / Boxer / Mixed (short coat). Meet Sookie! Most of our pups come from the Carolinas, but this fabulous bully girl’s journey began in Salt Rock, WV. She was abandoned in a home with another dog and a litter of puppies. When found, she was underweight, battling skin and ear infections, and clearly had just weaned her own litter. Thankfully, a fellow animal advocate reached out to Worthy Dog for help, and now Sookie is now in our care, and her future is bright! Sookie has been settling into her foster home with Jessica and pup buddy Rory (yes, named after Gilmore Girls!) for the past few weeks. She’s proven to be an absolute delight—sweet, social, gentle, and easygoing. In a pack, she’s submissive, but she’s also confident and relaxed when meeting new people. She rides beautifully in the car, walks politely on leash, and makes you wonder if she once had someone who loved and worked with her. We’ve learned that Sookie is both housetrained and crate trained. She has a moderate energy level, always up for some playtime with Rory, but equally happy to curl up for a nap. Peanut butter Kongs are a favorite, and she loves to burrow into a pile of pillows for ultimate comfort or sun herself on the back deck. Sookie is such a sweet baby girl and is truly the whole package. With a healthy diet, a little TLC, and the loving forever family she deserves, she’s sure to flourish. Apply today!
