Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (long coat). Adoption Fee: 295. Meet Fergus! Ferguson is a 5 year ild terrier mix who currently weighs about 16 pounds. He was rescued off the EU list from Fort Worth and came to us as a grooming nightmare full of mats. The mats have been removed and he’s looking and feeling much better. He is a very sweet boy. He gets along well with other pets and is house/ crate trained. Very smart sweet boy, he listened/learned his name in a matter of days. He is easy to pick up and loves cuddles. Little buddy is ready for his furever home . To meet Fergus, please fill out an application! Application available at .pawsofloverescue/adoption-application. Adoption donation includes spay/neuter, microchip, deworming, dhpp vaccinations, rabies shot, bordetella nose spray and any other necessary procedures prior to adoption. Dallas/Ft. Worth area Application available at .pawsofloverescue/adoption-application. Adoption fee of $295 includes neuter/spay, microchip, heartworm testing, deworming, vaccinations, and other necessary procedures. Applications without a phone number will not be processed. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
