Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed (medium coat). Meet Darby! This pup was born around July 18, 2025 and came to WAG with her mother and four siblings. What type of dog is this? Your guess is as good as ours, but the mother has a wiry coat and coloring like an Australian shepherd. We do not know who the father is. WAG's puppies will receive all age-appropriate vaccinations before adoption. They are required to be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age or at your veterinarian's recommended age. Darby's ideal home will have family members that can spend plenty of time on training, a securely fenced back yard, no children under 5 years old, and another friendly dog to set a good example would be a bonus. Visit our website to fill out an Adoption Application .wagsequimwa If you have any questions, please email: wagranchyahoo Most of our dogs require a fully fenced yard, this does depend on the individual dogs needs and safety requirements. Adoption donation fee up to $300 (Please understand this adoption donation goes towards helping all the dogs we rescue)

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
