Description
Dog Breed: Hound / Mixed (medium coat). I'm just a little hound pup, all big ears and wobbly paws, and I love being wherever you are. If you're sitting down, I'm probably curled up right against your leg. If you move, I'm right behind you. Tail wagging, nose twitching, hoping youâll glance down and smile at me. I live for attention. Talk to me, and my tail thumps like a drum. Pet me, and Iâll melt into your hand. Scratch behind my ears? Iâll follow you to the ends of the earth. Playtime is the best. Iâve got a lot of energy and a whole lot of love to give. But when the day winds down and you're ready to rest, Iâll be there too... curled up close, snoring softly, happy just to be near you. Thatâs really all I want. To play hard, love big, and stay by your side, always.

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
