Description
Dog Breed: Poodle (unknown type) / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: $350.00. My name is Mop—yep, just like the fluffy thing I look like! I’m a doodle mix, approx 3 years old, and weighing in around 45 pounds of curly. I’m fully potty trained and crate trained, though honestly, I don’t even need a crate because I’m such a good boy when left out on my own. I get along really well with other dogs, but I prefer calmer friends—I’m not the biggest fan of dogs who always want to be in my face to play. Now, people? I really do love them! It just takes me a little bit of time to be sure I can trust you. Once I know you’re my person, though, I’ll stick by your side with all my heart. If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal companion who’s already got the house manners down, I might just be your perfect match. Apply to meet me at bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
