Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 620. FLUFF ALERT! We’re looking for pre-adopters and backup fosters for SEVERAL POODLE PUPS (think teething, potty training and puppy behaviors), arriving this upcoming weekend 9/13 !!!! Pre-adopters will have first dibs to take these floofy sweethearts home, but we’re also seeking foster backups—just in case their forever match hasn’t seen them yet ✨ Please note: Our puppies often arrive stinky, dirty, and in serious need of some TLC. It’s part of the rescue glow-up! Most have never seen a bath, a brush, or a bed before making their way to us. *** They will be seen by our vet and treated as needed—this often includes common issues like Giardia, Coccidia, and general parasite treatment. Pre-adopters and fosters should be prepared for a little mess and a lot of love. *** Adoption fee is $600 of paid in cash, $620 for electronic payment via Venmo or PayPal. Adoption fee is due at pick up! Adoption fee DOES include puppy vaccines & 2 boosters, spay/neuter & microchip! These pups will need to return to our vet (in Riverview, Brandon, Sarasota, or St. Pete) at least two more times, with a third visit for their spay/neuter — so we recommend you live within 1.5 to 2 hours of one of those locations. Thank you for helping us give these pups the fresh start they deserve!

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
