She is 1 year old and weighs around 16 pounds. She is a beautiful red female dachshund. She is so sweet and very playful. She really likes toys. She is good with kids. She is good with other dogs and likes to play with them but can be touchy with some. She might do better with one other dog to play with or even being an only dog as long as you have time for her. She likes to sleep on a pillow on a bed but would probably do ok in a crate. While she is healthy, she did have a birth defect in one of her back legs. It couldn't bend and sometimes would drag and cause scrapes. The leg was twisted inside all the way to her hip. It was determined by our vets that removing the leg was the best option for her to live a happier life. She is doing great without the leg and likes to run and play! It hasn't slowed her down one bit. Love dachshunds and not ready to adopt or circumstances won't permit having a dog? How about being a sponsor or making a donation.
