He’s doing fantastic with crate training and hasn’t had any accidents- he even enjoys his crate time. Keto is very food-motivated, making him eager to learn and easy to train. Like most puppies, he’s still teething and can be a little mouthy, but he’s learning patience and does well when redirected to chew toys. He loves people (hasn’t met kids yet, but would likely do fine with them) and has plenty of playful puppy energy. Keto is also enjoys playing with his foster sister Winnie too, a 50 lb. pit bull- lots of big dog energy. Whether he’s playing outside, going for walks, or snuggling after a busy day, Keto is ready to be your loyal companion. Keto needs to be in a home with another dog or kids to play with and help him get his energy out. He is neutered, microchipped and current on vaccines. His adoption fee is $350. A refundable training deposit of $100 will be also due upon adoption. Training must be provided in a timely fashion to ensure our pups become the best canine citizens. The training deposit will be refundable within 3 months of the adoption date. All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption. Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. Fees help Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs, vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies. Please go to .secondchancedogrescue and complete an application today! All dogs live in private foster homes until they are adopted.

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
