Dog Breed: Dachshund / Jack Russell Terrier / Mixed. Adoption Fee: 550. Beatrice is a gentle, sweet girl with the kind of calm presence that instantly softens a room. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs, cats, and children, and she’s already fully potty trained. She just needs a little extra confidence and a family who will give her the love and stability she deserves. She came to us from the Conroe Animal Shelter after being found as a stray with two other dogs. At first, she was shy and unsure, even doing little “alligator rolls” when she was first introduced to a leash. With patience, she’s already making progress and starting to trust more each day. She has shown she feels braver when other dogs are around, so a calm canine friend could be a big comfort as she continues to build confidence. Beatrice is healthy overall, though she arrived a little underweight. She’s curious and observant, and her foster says it’s impossible not to smile when she tilts her head and perks up those big, adorable ears. She has been known to slip through a fence, so she’ll need a secure yard, close supervision, and being leashed outside. At heart, Beatrice just wants a safe, steady home where she can feel secure and loved. With a little patience and encouragement, she’ll blossom into a wonderful lifelong companion. Beatrice is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 9/20/2025 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 9am and noon . Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Click here to learn more about the FTA program. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments.
