If you would like a specific dog to be featured on our show, please email us at infogreatpyreneesrescuesociety. ** Meet Big Red—a tall, rangy gentleman with a glorious blend of Great Pyrenees and Golden Retriever traits, which basically means he’s genetically engineered for greatness. Born around August 2020, Big Red greets life with the enthusiasm of a Golden and the chill wisdom of a Pyrenees sage. When he first arrived at the rescue, his coat looked like it had been styled by a tumbleweed with a grudge, giving him that rugged “I’ve been living off the grid” look—proof of a past that didn’t quite match his worth. But after a spa day (okay, a serious grooming session), he now sports a silky smooth coat with a red sheen that glows like a sunset on a summer evening. Think “lumberjack meets luxury.” Big Red has a sweet smile that could charm the UPS guy into giving him extra treats, and a personality that wins people over in about three seconds flat. He warms up to people instantly—no awkward small talk, just straight to tail wags and soulful eye contact. Big Red may be tall, floofy, and ridiculously handsome—but he has substance, too. He’s leash trained, crate trained, and potty trained, and he hops into the car like he has a road trip playlist queued up and lots of yummy snacks packed. Big Red has the social grace of a Southern gentleman—he gets along great with other dogs, and he’s been known to flash a smile that could charm the socks off a cat (and yes, he’s also great with cats). Big Red’s gentle demeanor and easygoing nature make him the kind of dog who could fit seamlessly into any family—big, small, loud, quiet, as long as there’s love, treats, and maybe a couch he can pretend he’s not allowed on. So if you’ve been dreaming of a tall redhead with great hair, a gentle soul, and a touch of rugged elegance, Big Red is ready to move in and make your life 100% better!
