Dog Breed: Jack Russell Terrier / Terrier / Mixed. PATIENCE WINS MY HEART: Approx. 4 years old / Approx. 23 lbs. Hi, my name is Yara! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, and while I’m still a little bit of a scared girl, I’m learning that love and kindness make all the difference. Once I feel safe with you, I become a loyal, loving girl — and I can’t wait to find that in a forever family of my very own. • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and liked the mellow ones, so if you have a dog like this, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, but I do take a little time to trust people, so if you have calm-natured older kids such as teens, let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I will be a little cautious at first, but once I know I can trust you, my sweet, friendly and loving side really shines through. I like to take things slowly, and if someone rushes me before I’m ready, I’ll give little warning looks or even a little nip towards them to let them know I need more time. Being picked up is something I reserve for my trusted friends, but once you earn that spot in my heart, I’ll happily melt into a little love bug. I love my trainer and feel happiest with the people I’ve gotten to know — I just need a patient, understanding person who will let me come around at my own pace. / Energy level: 4-6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program and look forward to learning a lot with my trainer! Check back soon to see what I've learned. / I’m doing well in my crate at Mostly Mutts. / I’ve only had a few accidents on the shelter schedule, so hopefully that will translate to doing well in my new home once I learn the routine. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I love spending time with the people I’ve gotten to know, especially when I can curl up in a lap and soak up all the petting — and I’m sure I’ll discover even more things I love once I’m settled into my forever home! / I’m not a fan of being rushed, touched, or leashed by someone I don’t know yet, and too much commotion can make me uncomfortable and I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I’m looking for a calmer and loving type of home with a family I’ll treasure and that will treasure me too. My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
