Description
Dog Breed: Cane Corso Mastiff (short coat). TONY (A544481) Tony has beautiful orange eyes and a beautiful brindle coat. She has a bit of fear if you move too fast. Go slow and be patient when it comes to putting on her leash and removing it. Gaining her trust is important. She is easy to leash up after that. She paid no attention to all of the barking dogs when we walked past their kennels. She knows âsitâ and will politely wait for a treato. She went potty right away outside, indicating sheâs housebroken. She loves to play and loves to play with the person walking her as well. We had a great time in the big pen and she was so so happy. She plays hard and she loves hard! She has been at the shelter for too long and deserves the best family she can find!!

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
