Description
Dog Breed: Pug. Hi, I'm Daisy! I’m a gentle, loving girl with a soft heart and an even softer spot for cozy couches. I adore people and am happiest when I’m getting attention or relaxing nearby. I love going for short walks to sniff and explore, then curling up for a nap afterward. I’ve learned sit, down, and stay, and I’m always eager to please. I’m fully house trained, very quiet, and feel safe and content in my crate. I’m looking for a calm, kind family who will help me keep building my confidence. I can live happily in a suburban, rural, or quieter city home. I don’t need a big yard or lots of exercise; a few short walks and some cuddle time make me very happy. I can be left alone during the day, though I do loove having company. I’ve met other dogs and done well with calm, friendly ones when introductions are slow and gentle. I could live with the right dog, as long as my new family is patient and understanding. I can get a little reactive and excited when I see other dogs on leash, but I’m improving every day with positive training. I’m an easygoing, affectionate companion who will make you smile every day. Everyone who meets me says I’m kind, smart, and truly special. I can’t wait to meet you and to find a family of my own to love! **Daisy is becoming more confident everyday. She is fearful and I think the leash reactivity will improve overtime as her confidence improves. i.e. she will let out a pug scream if she steps on a plastic bag or if she's startled by a Halloween decoration outside. Otherwise, she is a very easy going dog and is very trainable. Everyone who meets her loves her. *located in Toronto

Overview:
The Pug, a charming and ancient breed, boasts a fascinating history believed to originate in China as early as 206 BC. Known for its distinctive flat, wrinkled face, large, expressive eyes, and tightly curled tail, the Pug's compact, muscular build is instantly recognizable. Despite their somewhat serious expression, Pugs are famously friendly, playful, and affectionate companions, often described as "clowns" due to their comedic antics. Their relatively low exercise requirements and adaptability make them excellent pets for apartment dwellers and devoted family members, thriving on human companionship. However, prospective owners should be aware of certain health considerations, primarily their susceptibility to respiratory issues due to their brachycephalic (short-nosed) structure, as well as potential eye problems and joint conditions. With proper care and attention, the Pug offers years of unwavering loyalty and delightful companionship.
