Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler. Location: Auburn, AL.. Meet Fred! He’s been a wonderful addition to our pack, but it’s time that he finds his forever family. He loves all dogs he’s been introduced to, and loves to play with his new friends. He is very social with people too! He is a little shy, but within minutes he leans against people asking for love. He’s a very sweet, snuggly boy. He has been wonderful at our home too. He loves to hang out, and is happy chilling on the porch, or is happy to go for a hike! Fred was found as a stray on the street, and likely because of that experience, he can be protective of his food. He happily takes treats with other dogs around, but does need to eat meals alone. Fred would do great in a family that is active, and would love to have another doggy sibling to play with. Fred is 3 years old and neutered, Please contact Mldeesgmail. Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
