Meet Chips Ahoy! Chips is a 2–3 year old Shih Tzu/Yorkie mix with a sweet, shy personality that blossoms once she feels safe—especially if treats are involved. She warms up faster to women but, with patience (and snacks), she’ll be anyone’s friend. Chips lives peacefully with cats and is respectful of their space. Potty training is a work in progress: she’s doing well with potty pads and is starting to go outside more consistently. She eats with enthusiasm, so slow-feeding tools like Kongs or snuffle mats are a must. This little lady loves to chew (supervision is key!) and has a funny alter-ego, “Patsi Jené,” who comes out when she’s playful or impatient for food. She kennels beautifully overnight and relaxes well when her foster is away. Chips has had limited interactions with other dogs but may enjoy a calm canine friend with proper introductions. She will thrive in a patient home that gives her time, structure, and plenty of love. In return, she’ll be a loyal, affectionate companion. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption. The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Request Form prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care.
