Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Meet Charlie Brown! Charlie Brown is an adorable, playful puppy who lives up to his sweet and silly name. Affectionately called “Charlie” (or sometimes “Chuck” when he’s being extra goofy), this little guy is equal parts cuddle bug and adventure buddy. He’s smart, gentle, and quick to learn—already mastering his basic commands like sit, stay, and come. Charlie loves going for walks, runs, and hikes, and he’s always up for exploring new places. When playtime winds down, you’ll find him happily snuggled up in his cozy bed or curled beside you, following you from room to room just to be near his person. Charlie is very social—he’s great with other dogs, adores kids, and greets new people with tail wags and curiosity. He loves toys, chew bones, and food puzzles, especially when peanut butter treats are involved. He has the cutest little “talking” sounds when he’s excited, and his funny sleeping positions are guaranteed to make you smile. The ideal home for Charlie would be one filled with love, playtime, and companionship. He’d thrive in an active family with kids or other pets, but he’d also be a loyal best friend to a single person or couple. A secure yard or plenty of outdoor adventures would make him happiest. If you’re looking for a sweet, affectionate pup who’s as ready to play as he is to cuddle, Charlie Brown is your guy. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
