We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Currently Living at: DC area foster home All about Sarah Sanderson: Sarah Sanderson is a very, very friendly pup who loves to meet other dogs and people! This is what her foster said about her: "Sarah is just great. My own dogs are 8 lbs and 19 lbs, and she quickly figured out how to adjust her play style to accommodate their much smaller sizes. She is overall very friendly with other dogs - she loves meeting them on and off leash! Loves playing with them - she's got all that awesome young dog energy and thrives on play. She's also quite confident. She came into my home and showed she knows where everything she is (like the kitchen!) She chewed only on the squeaky toys I offered to her. Knows how to do indoors stairs. I'm pretty sure she was in a home before she ended up in the shelter. I live in the city and she did not show any nervousness or jumpiness around city noises on our walks. She got right out there and showed how much she loves to explore. She's good in the car too - settles in and waits to get to our destination. And when I sit down - oh my, that's when she shows how much she loves her humans. She is an absolute lap dog, comes onto my lap and wriggles and melts into me. She's a fascinating mix of breeds, and somewhere in her ancestry she's got someone with a super soft coat - I love just petting her. Sarah Sanderson has so much to give. She's loving, friendly, and eager to please. Some basic training and she'll adjust wonderfully to her new home. Her forever family and she will be very lucky to have each other. Special adoption considerations: Sarah Sanderson is a truly Lucky Dog. She tested positive for heartworms, but has been treated!! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment. Sarah Sanderson has completed this activity restriction period. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
