Name: Chicago Best Guess for Breed: Black mouth cur and beagle mix Best Guess for Age: 8 months as of September 2025 SEX: Female Approximate Weight: 22.8 lbs as of 9/7/25 - she is still growing! Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Currently Living at: Texas shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get on a freedom flight here! Chicago is Looking For: Her forever home! This sweetie has been in a shelter so far south in Texas, it's 30 miles from the Mexican border. She's spent the first eight months of her life there well loved by shelter staff and volunteers, and socializing with plenty of other dogs, but she is so very ready to have her own humans! She's got all that awesome young-dog energy and is eager and ready to explore the world by her humans' sides - and to curl up and cuddle with them after fun days together.
