Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. Woody is a super sweet, fun-loving dog with a ton of energy and an even bigger heart. Woody has been working with an obedience trainer and is learning quickly! He already knows sit, shake, lay down, and will come when you call his name. He does well on the leash and loves long walks. He also rides well in the car, making him a great adventure buddy. During the week, Woody often goes to daycare where he gets along great with the other dogs, and the staff absolutely love him. He is crate trained, and while we believe he is potty trained, he’s mostly been staying outside at our house. Woody is very active and loves to play fetch and tug of war, but he also enjoys winding down with his people. At about 53 lbs, he’s a perfect medium-large size for both playtime and snuggles. Woody would do best with a family or individual who can keep up with his energy, provide consistent training, and give him all the love he deserves. **** Breed: Labrador Mix **** Pet Link: .nokillnetwork/adoption/pet_detail.php?petid=2188130&flag=1

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
