Fawn is basically an Ewok in disguise who decided to crash-land on Earth and try out the whole “dog life” thing. She’s twelve pounds of teddy bear cuteness wrapped in a Shih Tzu body, with enough charm to win over absolutely anyone she meets. Seriously—this girl doesn’t just have a personality, she has a presence. She’s the ultimate modern-day girlie: unapologetically quirky, delightfully goofy, and absolutely confident in who she is. One minute she’s snuggled up giving endless kisses (lick warning—you’ve been warned), the next she’s showing off her parkour skills by launching herself onto tables, couches, or any other surface she thinks might hold secrets. Every day is an adventure with Fawn, and you’ll never quite know where you’ll find her next. When it comes to other dogs, Fawn is the perfect mix of playful and chill. She thrives with a doggy playmate to romp around with, but she’s equally content to curl up and relax after the fun. People? Noise? New places? Grooming? Nothing fazes her. She’s basically the queen of “go with the flow.” She’s also athletic enough to zoomie around when the mood strikes, but don’t be fooled—she’d much rather sleep in and skip her early morning potty breaks. Now, she does have some quirks (but honestly, they just make her more lovable). Potty training is still a work in progress—outside potties? Meh. Rugs and dog beds? Much better. Leash walking? Not her thing—she prefers to freeze dramatically like a tiny Broadway star mid-performance. She also barks at people passing her window (hey, she’s got opinions), but weirdly enough, she doesn’t bark when people are actually at the door. At the end of the day, Fawn is an affectionate, adventurous, silly little explorer who needs a dog-safe home and a family ready to laugh at her daily shenanigans. If you’re looking for a cuddly Ewok who doubles as a parkour enthusiast and professional kisser, Fawn just might be your perfect match. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.
