Description
Dog Breed: Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie / Mixed (medium coat). ***The first step in the adoption process is to complete the application at .emmetcountyanimalshelter*** This teeny tiny guy is Walley! And could he get any cuter because we think not! Walley has some very simple wants in life and in his new home. He would love a calm quiet home where he can take long naps on big beds. He would like good high quality food because he doesn't eat much so every bite needs to count. He is ok with other kind, calm dogs but would be perfectly happy as a tiny prince of his own castle. He likes going outside but is fine with a piddle pad too if that works for you. Walley is one of our sweet seniors and he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and just had a dental. With an approved application, his adoption fee is $275.00

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
