Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Signal (A.K.A – Jack) is a sweet bundle of puppy energy and joy. This cute boy is a terrier mix of about 14 pounds and was born approx 8/9/24. He is ready to play with: kids, dogs, YOU! He wants to tell you, “Chase me please!” as he wags his tail in delight. Signal (Jack) is kennel trained and “almost” fully house trained (distraction may lead to accidents, when you have “pep in your step” like Signal). Signal (Jack) loves the dog park and walks, but doesn’t yet have perfect manners on his leash. He is so darn cute, you won’t mind. He also loves running circles around his elder, resident dog. Resident dog is NOT a fan, but even he concedes Signal (Jack) is fun to have around. Jack would probably like cats, but hasn’t met one yet. He enjoys dogs of all sizes. Honestly, Jack could make his foster family a “fail” if they have him too long, so set up a “meet and greet” soon. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $595.00

In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
