Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Meet Kipper! This lovely little scruffy man is so fun! He is only 6 months old and just a little guy at around 12 lbs. He will probably grow to around 18 lbs or so. Perfect size! Kipper is a happy fella. He likes other dogs and is sweet with people too. He has not been around cats. Kipper is still learning about the world and needs to build some confidence but with some patience and training he will do great. A home with a yard and perhaps a fun buddy to play with will be great for him. Kipper is vaccinated, neutered and chipped. His adoption fee is $525 We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
