Description

Dog Breed: Boxer. 9/14/2025 Frankie II is an owner surrender looking for a new home. Hi! My name is Frankie II! I am a handsome 2-year-old fawn boy that is an owner surrender due to my owner having a baby and unable to keep me. I am described as friendly, active, smart, noisy, playful, affectionate, nervous, and obedient! I think all dogs are my best friend and want to play and cuddle with them! I have lived with another dog for quite some time, and we wrestle, cuddle and share space quite well. I have lived with a cat but the cat was kept separate due to my size and energy. There are no kids in my current home, but I have had exposure to my owner's young nephew and have done well. I can be a bit strong and high energy for the sake of play and connection. I am a people person and always ready for a human friend! I am house trained, crate trained, know basic commands, eager to learn, and at night I sleep with the other dog in my home in a large in-home pen. If the humans are away and I am left alone, I am fine as long as I am in my pen/crate and with the other dog in my home. If left out in the house I will chew on things that I'm not supposed to and if left alone without the other dog in my home, I will bark for quite a while. When outside I do not attempt to jump fences/gates but am curious what is under the grass and will dig to find out. I also have to be on a certain side of my owner or with another dog when going outside or I will not go. Some of my favorite things are being in the human's personal space, taking naps, watermelon, playing catch with a tennis ball, zoomies in large spaces, leaning against the human's legs, wrestling with other dogs, hugs, snuggles, being with other dogs, and making stuffed animals magically explode! My owner says I am a much more nervous guy without another dog and the other dog in my home helps keep me "grounded and part of a little pack". If you think I would make a great addition to your home, contact the rescue today and give them my name because I am waiting to meet you!

Boxer

A.K.A.: Deutscher Boxer, German Boxer, Dutch Boxer, Boxer dog, Boxy, Boxerman
Overview:

The Boxer is a medium-sized, short-haired dog breed of German origin, known for its distinctive appearance and vibrant personality. Physically, Boxers possess a strong, athletic build with a characteristic square head, an undershot jaw, and often a docked tail and cropped ears (though these practices are becoming less common). Their short, glossy coat typically comes in fawn or brindle, often with white markings. Temperamentally, Boxers are renowned for being incredibly loyal, intelligent, and energetic, making them fantastic companions for active families. They thrive on human interaction and can be playful and patient with children, making them excellent family pets. While their energy levels require regular exercise, their adaptability means they can adjust to apartment living if their activity needs are consistently met. However, potential owners should be aware of certain health considerations, including a predisposition to some cancers, heart conditions like cardiomyopathy, and hip dysplasia, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary check-ups.
