Description
Dog Breed: Poodle (unknown type) / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: $350.00. Meet Frankie D! Frankie D is a sweet and spunky 20-lb poodle mix who’s ready to steal your heart! This little guy is already potty trained, knows how to use a dog door, and is happiest when surrounded by his favorite thing—people (big and small alike!). Frankie gets along well with cats, making him a great fit for just about any household. Recently, he had to be shaved due to a pesky foxtail, but don’t worry—his soft, curly coat will grow back beautifully, and in the meantime, his cute personality shines through more than ever. With his gentle nature, happy tail wags, and love for companionship, Frankie D would make the perfect snuggle buddy and walking partner. He’s looking for a forever family who will cherish him as much as he’ll adore them. Think Frankie D might be the one? Apply today at bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication You won’t be able to resist his charm!

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
