Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed (short coat). Some pets are in the Shelter and others in Foster homes. Please read the bio & email the address listed in the bio. Additionally for CATS you may email JSheltoneulesstx.gov and for DOGS, email trinitygapclubgmail Meet Laney Wilson Laney is a super smart, six-month-old Cattle Dog with a big heart and an even bigger personality. We’re not sure how this sweet girl ended up at the Euless Shelter, but she’s now ready to find her forever home! Laney is an active pup who would thrive with an energetic person or family that can keep up with her zest for life. She’s already potty trained, gets along well with other dogs, and weighs about 25 pounds — expected to grow to around 40 pounds when full grown. True to her breed, Laney loves to herd, so a home without small children is best. She’ll make a wonderful companion for someone who understands and appreciates the loyal, intelligent, and driven nature of a Cattle Dog. She will need a home with a 6’ wooden fence If you're looking for a fun, affectionate, and trainable pup to share adventures with, Laney is your girl! Interested? Email Wendee at wendeesterlingtile

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
