Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed (medium coat). This silly Aussie cattle dog mix is exactly what his name promises! He is a total blast! He's goofy, smart, and always ready to play. Fetch is his FAVE (he goes crazy for the chuck-it!) and he'll win you over with his sweet sits and affectionate personality. Baja Blast is curious about the world and sometimes makes us laugh with his antics, like the time he saw his reflection and had a whole barking conversation with it. He's also a quick learner and loves keeping his brain and body busy. Shelter life has been tough on him, and he can get stressed or reactive behind barriers. But outside the kennel, Baja is much calmer and has shown he can be social with proper dog intros. He'd thrive in an active home with space to zoom, play, and get enrichment. With structure and love, Baja blast will be the most loyal + fun bestie you could ask for! All animals are up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies if over 4 months old), microchipped, and spayed or neutered. All dogs have been been vaccinated with DHPP and Bordatella (kennel cough) and heartworm tested negative (if over 6 months). All cats have been vaccinated with FVRCP and current on flea control. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
