Description
Dog Breed: Shepherd / Mixed. Hi! I'm Venus. I am a 3 month old, female, Shepherd mix puppy who weighs around 27 Lbs. I was found on Weston Court in Rockwall on 09/12/2025 and never reclaimed. So now I am looking for a new family to love. I love my people and can be considered an over-sized lap dog! I am more than happy to spend my day watching you work or going on long walks. I appear to get along well with other dogs but a meet and greet is encouraged to make sure we get along. I am spayed, microchipped, current on my rabies vaccine and basic boosters are to date. My adoption fee is $125. If you are interested in adopting me, please go to rockwalladoptions/adoptfoster/adoption-application/. Once approved RAC staff will contact approved adopters in the order in which their application was received and meet and greets are scheduled in the same manner. All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 9 am to 5 pm. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense.

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
