Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. 1 Year Old tiny 6–7 lb Miso has been blossoming into the sweetest little companion. Her foster describes her as sweet, quiet, and trusting, the kind of dog who wants nothing more than to be loved and included! She loves curling up in her donut bed, going for walks, tagging along on errands in a tote bag, and of course, snuggles. Miso has a gentle and submissive personality. She’s very curious, enjoys watching and learning from her foster sister Ruby, and is perfectly happy to simply be near her people. She knows her name, sits for treats, and loves a good nap. She’s still learning the ropes with house training, but she’s eager to please and responds well to guidance. While she’s quiet and chill overall, Miso has little bursts of playful energy and a unique way of making tiny sounds to let you know she wants to be part of things. She doesn’t bark and has been calm meeting new people and even kids in passing. She hasn’t been around cats but we don’t foresee any issues! Her ideal home? A calm, loving household that values her desire to be near her people. She would do well as a lap dog in a peaceful environment, and could also enjoy a home with another gentle dog to play with. Miso is ready for her happily ever after with you, apply to adopt her at rescuecity.nyc/adopt

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
