Description
Dog Breed: Chihuahua / Dachshund (short coat). "Molly" Chihuahua/Dachshund X-female-4 months old, 8 lbs Meet Molly! This super sweet girl is one of only two ladies in her litter. Surrounded by her brothers, she’s learned to hold her own but she’ll always melt when you scoop her up in your arms. Molly’s mamma is a highly intelligent, very social 14-pound Chihuahua-Dachshund mix. Her dad is a mystery but we think he was bigger than her mom. At 4 months old Molly weighs 9 pounds, so she will likely be a bit larger-sized when fully grown. She would do well as an only child with people around to give her attention or with another friendly small-to-medium dog to play with. Molly is looking for a family that has the time and patience to help her learn, along with a safe yard where she can run, play and explore. She’s ready to become your loyal, loving companion! Overview:
The Chihuahua, a captivating breed known for its diminutive size, boasts an ancient and somewhat mysterious origin, with most theories pointing to Mexico as its birthplace, potentially descending from the "Techichi," a small companion dog of the Toltec civilization. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their small, compact bodies, large expressive eyes, and erect ears, appearing in both smooth and long-coated varieties, showcasing a vast array of colors and markings. Despite their tiny stature, Chihuahuas possess a big personality; they are often described as spirited, alert, and fiercely loyal to their owners, sometimes displaying a bold and confident demeanor. While their small size makes them exceptionally well-suited for apartment living, they thrive in homes where they receive ample attention and mental stimulation. They can be good family pets for older children who understand how to interact gently with a small dog, but their delicate build makes them less suitable for boisterous toddlers. Regarding health, Chihuahuas can be prone to certain conditions like patellar luxation, heart problems, and dental issues, making regular veterinary check-ups crucial for their well-being.
